What is Landscaping?
The process of landscaping is the art and practice of improving a property’s outdoor areas. Everything you see outside your home—from lawns, trees, and gardens to walkways, lighting, and retaining walls—forms part of the landscape. When you landscape your yard, you’re actively enhancing those features to boost both beauty and function.
Landscaping and Curb Appeal: High-quality landscaping is a cornerstone of curb appeal. The Jake Ryan team excels at making Shelby Township homes look exceptional. Investing in thoughtful landscaping increases the value of your home and uplifts the entire community.
How Should I Plan My Project?
1. Dream Big First
Begin every project by imagining without limits. Write down every idea, from a patio or inground pool to an outdoor kitchen or garden. Once your wish list is complete, we can help you prioritize, budget, and turn those dreams into reality.
2. Know Where to Invest vs. Save
- A professional master plan
- Quality masonry & foundations
- Durable, weather-resistant materials
- Skilled craftsmanship
- Using gravel instead of high-end pavers
- Re-using existing stone or brick
- Buying smaller plants to mature over time
- Mix-and-matching furniture
3. Mind the Details
Small touches make a big impact. We ensure that all hardscape elements—stone, pavers, wood, and hardware—coordinate with one another and complement your home’s unique architecture.
